About DILI
DILI is an acute form of liver injury caused by drug intake. Most DILI cases are unpredictable and idiosyncratic (iDILI).
DILI is a differential diagnosis that requires the exclusion of other causes of acute liver injury and cannot be reliably confirmed by any standard liver laboratory test.

The problem

Expert adjudication of DILI on a case-by-case basis remains the gold standard for confirming the diagnosis, particularly when more than one drug can be identified as a potential causative agent at the time of diagnosis.

DILI leads to uncertainty, market-restrictions, post-marketing withdrawals, delays in drug development programs, and has severe and costly repercussions on drug developers, primary care physicians, and patients.
